5 Days in Burgandy

Hi All. My husband and I will be travelling from Barolo, Italy and planning on visiting Burgandy for 5 nights then flying out of Lyon. Dates will be May 4-9th and we will fly out of Lyon on the 10th at 11:45am. We are late 30s, love wine and amazing food (especially slow lunches) going for long walks, sitting at cute cafes and people watching while we travel.

So far I’m interested in doing a wine tour with Discover Burgandy, eating at Maison Lameloise, visiting Semur-en-Auxois and visiting Fontenay Abbey, Beaune (& maybe Dijon) and I think we will spend a day doing our own wine tastings. I also read Macon might be nice with views of vineyards so maybe we can spend the day around that area before arriving in Lyon. Our priorities are spending more time in the country side so we don’t need to spend time in Lyon (other than a wonderful dinner).

I am hoping you can help me with any recommendations and also where to base ourselves for the 5 nights. I want to stay at Maison du Pommard for 3 nights for sure and then I think we will like to stay somewhere else for 2 days. Possibly an AirBnB in Beaune (to save some money instead of 5 days in Maison du Pommard) or maybe closer to Dijon area. Can you recommend any towns, restaurants, places to stay based on our preferences please? Also any interesting stops along the way from Barolo for lunch maybe.

No, we're travelling from Barolo to Burgundy region so Beaune area or whatever towns come up as recommendations. We will fly out of Lyon on our last day.
