Scotland Most Memorable
If you could go to one place/area in Scotland and only that one, which one/where would it be.
the individual involved most likely will not be able to repeat the visit.

OMG I'd have no way to offer one place. Scotland has some of the most scenic view points in the world. Sea lochs, inland lochs, mountains, fishing villages, neolithic sites, romantic ruins, amazing castles in stunning spots. Plus wonderful country hotels with gobsmacking views. What time of year would this be? What sort of budget? Self drive or depending on transit?

September is a great month to visit. OK -- here are some hotels on or near the west coast that have breath taking views. A few are quite remote but all are accessible by car:

The drive from Callander to Isle of Skye was my all-time favorite drive. Stayed in Portree. Agree with KayeF about Portree.

Difficult question but my choice would be the Isle of Skye.
Wouldn't go near the place at peak times, but September should be much quieter.
I have yet to see a place with so much beauty and jaw dropping scenery in every direction wherever you go on the Isle.
We stay in self catering cottages but we had a lovely meal at Kinloch Lodge and I'd very happily stay there.
Luxury Hotel on Skye Kinloch Lodge and a world renowned restaurant
I'd also like to stay at the 3 Chimneys.

I agree with the Isle of Skye. I would also suggest Glencoe. They were our two favorite areas of Scotland.
On the Isle of Skye, we stayed in Portree at a historic house. Dont remember the name right now. I am not home. Will try to locate the name.
In Glencoe we stayed at the Glencoe Inn. Highly recommend. Very convenient location and excellent restaurant.
PS just found the name. Its the Viewfield House Hotel in Portree.
