We are just back from 3 weeks in Japan, which was fabulous. Can not believe we go to Mexico ‘next month’!! At the very end of December, thankfully.
I’ve just realised I haven’t booked a hotel in Oaxaca…. Eeeek. Help.

Can’t really help with Oaxaca. On our last visit w stayed at Hotel Con Corazon. Very nice but , in hindsight a bit too far from the Zoacalo and now seems to have gotten expensive. We were there a couple of weeks ago but stayed in a courtyard apartment which we loved. Four blocks from the Zocalo so pretty quiet but no hotel facilities (although that was fine for us ).
BTW we stayed at La Perla in Puebla. Great location and wonderful rooms but it did lack atmosphere. Teh reception area was a bit clinical , almost unfinished. just a heads up in case you wanted to change your mind.

Times running out re playing 🤦🏻♀️.do you think the day at Las Caletas would be good for ‘all’ of us? 4 adults, 9 & 2 year old. Will the water be nice for swimming or a bit cold?
