Airline apps
Hello, I'm confused about using airline apps on my phone.
We’ve booked on United, but flight is actually on Lufthansa.
Do I install both apps on each phone?
Then I check each phone, both apps, for FF numbers and KTN being correctly added?
I’m finding the apps to be a bit touchy - e.g., the Lufthansa app shows I’m missing both email and cell phone#, although I’ve repeatedly (and carefully) entered both.. My husband’s are fine.
His entry shows his KTN, mine does not- both done at same time.
In the past, I’ve just checked in 24hrs ahead and added boarding pass to Apple Wallet - life was easy and good!
But Secretary Pete advises air travelers to use the apps, and I’m a believer……

I always make sure I have the app of the airline I'm actually flying..
If everything goes according to plan you won't need it - life is good and easy....
Having the app gives you more direct info /contact with Lufthansa in case someething does go awry.
so yes I would
a) download the Lufthansa App
b) make sure you can find your reservation on their app.

Yes, download both apps. I've never had trouble with the UA app. However the Lufthansa (and their associated airlines) can seem buggy. United should give you their PNR and, once the reservation is entered in the LH system, United will send you the Lufthansa PNR for your flight. That's the one you want to check most often. If the LH app isn't taking your info, I'd try deleting it completely from your iPhone and reloading it.

Yes you need both if flying on both. I had to upgrade my phone 6 months ago as suddenly the United app was no longer compatible. I've never had an issue with Lufthansa's. You will need the Lufthansa confirmation number not United's when using the Lufthansa app and website.
